The Intelligent Video Surveillance System of Vimicro International Corporation, a premier multimedia semiconductor and solution provider, has been adopted by World Expo 2010 Shanghai in China, the largest World’s Fair site in history.

This installation has demonstrated Vimicro’s ability to successfully apply surveillance technology for large-scale urban activities. Also, it has provided a foundation for Vimicro to further dedicate itself to national security, transportation and environmental supervision projects.

A complete system including an integrated control platform, intelligent monitoring, high definition IP cameras and wireless remote monitoring capabilities in a turnkey solution is provided by the Vimicro installation.

The integration of monitoring points is easily done by the highly advanced Vimicro Intelligent Video Surveillance System by using computer analysis to identify security concerns, then alert the appropriate parties for review and action at multiple agencies in command centers and on-site through wireless technologies.

Vimicro’s technology is based on proprietary intellectual property designed specifically for the needs of digital surveillance protocols as part of the Intelligent City initiative.

Dr. John Deng, Vimicro Chairman and CEO, indicates, “We are very pleased to partner with Shanghai Mobile, a subsidiary of China Mobile (News – Alert), to provide the Vimicro Intelligent Video Surveillance System at Expo 2010 Shanghai which faces the huge challenges for the security management issue. With rapid growth in China’s video surveillance markets, we have the confidence to further our leadership position in this expanding market by continuously providing the most advanced technology and products.
